ERRORES TÍPICOS · FALSOS AMIGOS

«Actually» no es «actualmente»

Actually significa «en realidad» o «de hecho». «Actualmente» es currently o at the moment.

  • ✗ Actually I live in Madrid. (= en la actualidad)✓ Currently / At the moment, I live in Madrid.

Por qué nos pasa

Se parecen mucho, pero actually se usa para corregir o matizar algo («en realidad»). Para decir «en este momento de mi vida» se usa currently, at the moment o now.

Cómo se dice bien

Actually = en realidad
I thought he was French, but actually he's Belgian.
Actually = de hecho (para matizar)
“Do you like it?” “Actually, I love it.”
Actualmente = currently
I'm currently working in a bank.
Más natural en conversación
I live in Madrid at the moment. / These days I work from home.

Finn dice

Si en español podrías decir «en realidad», usa actually. Si quieres decir «ahora mismo, en esta época», usa currently o at the moment.
