The Loop
A word for every letter, from A to Z. Read the definition, guess the word and close the loop before the time runs out. For B1, B2 and C1 – at home or projected in class.

Play at home
Type the words. Small typos are fine. At the end, save the words you missed to your Mistake review.
Class mode
Two teams, two loops, big letters for the projector. You press Correct, Wrong or Pass – or use the keyboard.
Loop of the day
A new loop every day, the same for everyone. Share your result with emojis.
How to play
- Read the definition for the letter. It says Starts with or, for difficult letters, Contains.
- Type the word – or say it out loud in class. Small spelling mistakes are fine.
- Don’t know it? Pass. The loop comes back to the letters you passed on the next lap.
- Beat the clock. The game ends when you have answered every letter or the time runs out.
For teachers
Project Class mode on the whiteboard: two teams, each with its own loop, time and points. Students answer out loud; you press Correct, Wrong or Pass, or use the keyboard and a presentation clicker. Choose the level, the topic and the time for each team.
Set The Loop as homework in My classes and see who has played and their score. For speaking, try Don’t say it!, and for a paper game, Letter Rush.

Frequent questions
How do you play The Loop?
Each letter of the alphabet has a definition in English. Guess the word that starts with that letter (or contains it, for difficult letters like X or Z). If you don't know it, pass and come back to it on the next lap. Get as many letters right as you can before the time runs out.
Is it free?
Yes. The Loop is free for everyone, with no account needed. With a free Levoop account, your results are saved and your teacher can see them if you are in a class.
How do I use it in class?
Open Class mode on the projector or the interactive whiteboard. Two teams take turns, each with its own loop, time and points. Students answer out loud and the teacher presses Correct, Wrong or Pass, or uses the keyboard or a presentation clicker.
What levels and topics are there?
B1 Preliminary, B2 First and C1 Advanced, each with loops of general vocabulary, phrasal verbs, topics (work and travel, environment and technology) and false friends for Spanish speakers.
Does it accept small spelling mistakes?
Yes. A small typo still counts, and the game shows you the correct spelling. Capital letters and accents don't matter.
What is the Loop of the day?
A new loop every day, the same for everyone at each level. When you finish, you can share your result with emojis – no personal data.
Can I set it as homework?
Yes. In My classes, choose The Loop as homework for a level, or one loop for the whole class. You see who has done it and their score, like any other exercise.
