About the B1 Preliminary article

Part 2 (one of two options): you write an article of about 100 words answering the questions in an announcement. Examiners give up to 5 marks for each of four things: Content, Communicative achievement, Organisation and Language (20 marks per text).

How to do it

  1. Read the task twice and underline what you must include.
  2. Plan your paragraphs before you write (5 minutes is enough).
  3. Use the right style for the reader: formal or informal.
  4. Keep to the word limit and leave time to check grammar and spelling.
